Remember the Neocons? These were the guys who justified the invasion of Iraq, and accompanying lies and subterfuge about WMD's, with the logic that the invasion would also herald the dawn of new Arab democracies.
Could they ever have imagined that these aims might have been achieved through the transparency of Wikileaks and the fostering of open, unfettered dialogue through social media tools?
And, maybe, with less loss of life?
I doubt it.
We're not out of the woods yet, but the changes affecting the Arab world continue to bring hope that open information, along with accessible communication platforms may be a much better way of fostering change.
Time to beat swords into cell phones.
